The Species Inventory application assists with creating, sharing, and managing sighting logs that are formatted as tab delimited text so they easily import to a spreadsheet application such as OpenOffice Calc or Microsoft Excel.

With the Species Inventory application, you maintain only one sighting list and then apply filters to quickly generate sublists of interest (e.g., backyard list, annual list, Christmas Bird Count). And due to the integration of the Species Inventory application with the Peck bird information manager, you can view the lists as slide shows.
