Medicare and Medicaid stopped accepting the old ICD- 9 codes beginning on October 1, 2004. It's not too late to start using the new codes using our free upgrade and PocketBilling 3.0. Major changes for this year include:
Decubitus ulcers have new codes 707.00- 707.09;
Hyperparathyoridism has 4 new codes 252.00- 252.08;
Several V codes are changed----viral disease, gyn exams, pregnancy exams;
New codes fo abnormal Pap smears 795.03- 795.08;
Plus, several other new codes including new diabetes fifth-digit codes
Use the latest codes in three easy steps:
1. Download PocketBilling 3.0
2. Download and install the new ICD-9 code sets
3. Start using them to improve reimbursement
