» MapMap Lite Description
MapMap is a map viewer for PalmOS-powered handheld computers, aiming
to be a simple GIS (Geo-Informational System; currently it supports
looking up object (city, street, subway station, etc.) position by its name). The main idea behind MapMap
is to create map viewer, maps for which could be produced without
extraordinary effort by the end users. As such, MapMap is:
- Raster-based, as producing/obtaining/converting vector map is usually beyond capabilities of mere human.
- Uses common desktop format for images, as using propriatary format without need limits user.
- Generally keeps data formats open as it allows to use already available third party tools to process data.

- Improved compatibility with pre-3.5 devices
