» Event Launcher v3.0 Description

Event Launcher is an event handler for Palm OS 5.0 or greater. It allows you to configure applications or DAs to be launched after certain system events, such as soft resets, hotsyncs, and card inserts. This is convenient for things like, starting a backup program when you insert your SD card, starting a DA like ClockOffDA on power on, and bypassing the preferences screen on a reset - going directly to your launcher. Update Description:
- New configuration options for cable launch
· New Icon
· Disable app switch on VFS Insert option works now - bug fix
· Help button
· Global Enabled option
· About button
· Option to use the application as a preference panel
· Option to power off after a specific launch
· Cable disconnect launch
· Bug fixes

The author has really added some great new features since v2.2 that I was using on my Tapwave Zodiac. This is definitely worth checking out. Awesome program!

A bteetr answer for this is, I generally don't worry about detaching event handlers as it is rare that I don't want the event handler in place for the life of the program. If you do have an event handler that need be in place only for a short while, you may want to detach it. Because each event handler is created in the constructor for the page, the event handler is released when the page goes out of scope or is otherwise destroyed. Hope that helps.-j
